Ajji's recipe for an authentic, Garam masala was; a perfect spice-blend, heated to the right temperature for the right time

Ingredients
Red chilli powder, Coriander seeds, Coconut, White sesame seeds, Cumin seeds, Poppy seeds, Edible common salt, Turmeric, Black Cardamom, Black Pepper, Cottonseed oil,  Cassia leaf,  Black cumin, Asafoetida, Stone flower, Star anise, Fennel,  Cassia,  Cloves and Nutmeg.    

How To Use
  • Roast & grind 1 tsp poppy seeds,2-3 cardamoms & 1/4 tsp black cumin seeds.
  • Grind well 2 onions,2-3 garlic petals & 1/4 inch ginger.
  • Mix well 1/2 bowl tomato puree, 1/4 bowl curd & keep aside.
  • Par boil 200gms each of cut carrot, french beans, cauliflower & green peas.
  • Heat 2-3 tbsp of butter/oil. Add 1tsp cummin seeds & onion mixture & saute it. Add poppy seeds mixture.
  • Add 5tsp Kpra Garam Masala, saute for 3-4 minutes, add the mixed tomato puree & saute for 5-7 minutes.
  • add the booiled veggies, salt to taste & 1 tsp red chilli powder, mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander & serve hot.¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†
